Increasing Back to School Healthcare Access

The school year is right around the corner and the Family Health Center and NTXFHF Team continue to focus on strengthening relationships with area independent school districts (McKinney, Allen, Plano, Frisco and other north Collin County districts) to increase healthcare access for students and their family members.

This summer the team spent time attending school events, training school counselors and support specialists on clinic resources, and coordinating on-site tours for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) staff.

Ongoing relationship building and community outreach remains a crucial Foundation imperative. We strive to support patients with essential resources, ensuring every individual throughout the community has the opportunity for the healthiest life possible, including:

· Less barriers to accessing care

· Care in a medical home that helps to ensure the whole patient is being treated

· A welcoming environment where patients can feel supported and cared for

· Connections to essential resources

During this back-to-school timeframe, we take the health of our youngest patients seriously as well. The Family Health Center is contracted as a preferred provider for Region 10 Early Headstart/Headstart ensuring our youngest patients have access for their early childhood medical and dental needs.
